Product Description

Bold Character Bottled Fresh from the Grove

Unfiltered extra virgin olive oil from Marina Palusci's historic groves in Abruzzo — cold-extracted from Dritta and Leccino olives at the very start of the season and bottled immediately after harvest, preserving the oil at its most vivid and intense.

On the nose: bold artichoke, fresh olive leaf, aromatic green herbs, and a clean green almond note — the raw freshness that defines the Novello harvest. On the palate, powerful bitterness builds into a fierce, lasting peppery finish, the hallmark of Dritta olives at peak intensity.

Best enjoyed raw as a finishing drizzle — pour generously over bruschetta, legume soups, red meat, and pasta to let its full aromatic depth and extreme freshness come alive. For a unique culinary adventure, try drizzling it over Panna Cotta!

Reviews

An entirely new experience

"Marina Palusci Novus blew me away so much that I quickly went through three bottles. This is a new experience for me to consume quality olive oil. I used to think olive oil was just that tasteless oil you bought in the grocery store for cooking. Oh was I wrong. In my ambitions to discover better health, I discovered the high polyphenols in Marina Palusci Novus. The inflammation in my aging 61 year old body was taking its toll on me. I didn't expect the health affects of consuming high polyphenol olive oil would be so drastic. I'm hooked for life."

EVOO from my familys' roots

"This is an intense but suave olive oil, well-balanced with a nice fruity aroma and a hint of pepper at the finish. I have never experienced any olive oil from my family's home region in Abruzzo (Pescara), and never experienced any oil made from dritta and lecinno olives, so this "liquid gold" was a game changer. I love drizzling it over my salad with a hint a freshly squeezed lemon. The polyphenols are high and rich making it a perfect product for my health. This is one high quality olive oil which I will highly recommend to friends and family."

— Gerald W. (5/5)

Premium quality and high polyphenols

"I specifically looked for an oil with a high polyphenol count, and Marina Palusci Novus delivered. At over 1,000 mg/kg, the health benefits are a huge plus, but the taste is what really sold me. It’s unfiltered and robust with a beautiful green hue. It tastes like it was pressed yesterday. Truly an authentic Italian treasure—thank you, Olive Oil Lovers, for making such high-quality EVOO accessible!"

— eric d. (5/5)

Another Great Choice

"I am new to Olive Oils and this is my 3rd different purchase from Olive Oil Lovers. They never disappoint as this one stands out as well. I'm looking for high polyphenols & this certainly fits that bill and has great taste. Loved drizzling it on my salmon vegetable dinner salad."

— Anthony S. (5/5)

Flavor enhancer

"I wondered if a premium EVOO was worth the price. The EVOO color shouted quality. The peppery hit at the end was a great finish. I drink 2 table spoons every morning. I put it on my salad. My wife keeps telling me how much she likes this EVOO. If you're undecided go for it, you will not regret this purchase."

— Jerry B. (5/5)

Quality Olive Oil

"This recently harvested EVOO with very high polyphenols is something I wanted to try. . Since my original order of Oro Bailen Bio which has a fragrance which says freshness. . I ordered a bottle. . The fragrance isn’t as striking as OBB but you can see & tell the quality . . Surprisingly many commented on the 2 cough peppery taste . To me it’s a mild no cough peppery taste. . So I may go for the top polyphenol next. . These are top of the line products . . You can’t go wrong. ."

— James R. (5/5)

High quality/Great price

"Excellent olive oil, especially for the price range! Nice green color and peppery finish so you know it’s high in polyphenols. The only thing that surprised me was it is in a clear glass bottle and olive oil is very sensitive to light."

— Craig G. (4/5)

Excellent. High Polyphenol

"I purchased this for medicinal/health purposes. I take about a shot glass of this every morning. It has a high polyphenol count of 1088 mg/kg and a nice, strong peppery flavor to it. This is the first time I purchased an unfiltered oil and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent flavor!"

— Anna K. (5/5)

Marina Palusci Novus Abruzzo, Italy

"I love the flavor of the Dritta & Leccino coupage, and the Colfondo (unfiltered) adds an extra layer of rustic intensity on my palate. It works beautifully on fresh salads and grilled vegetables."

— Theresa S. (5/5)

WOW !!!

"I have been using the Spanish evoo’s over the past year, because I like their flavor and higher amount of polyphenols for the health benefits. When I saw the Marina Palusci Novus , from Italy, with its polyphenol count . I had to try it. This is the smoothest , best tasting evoo I have ever had. I hope it is one that can be kept in stock, because it’s gonna be a staple in my house!! In the video look how green the color is, it’s so amazingly fresh . If there is a better evoo available in this price range , please let me know . Thanks Olive Oil Lovers Sincerely Rick"

FAQs

We are always here to help.

It is a proven fact that in just eight hours of close exposure to strong fluorescent lights, a bottle of olive oil packed in a clear glass bottle will be totally destroyed, having lost its color, flavors, and aromas.

While oil packed in a dark glass bottle offers considerably better protection, it too becomes vulnerable when exposed to strong light and can be completely destroyed in less than a week, which makes purchasing olive oil in a supermarket a less than desirable prospect.

Beyond that, the vast majority of the oils sold in the USA have inadequate or even misleading labels. The consumer is given little to no information as to where the oil was actually produced or from what variety of olives it was made, but most importantly, when the oil was harvested.

Simply put, the best olive oils are extra virgin olive oils. However, adulteration of extra virgin olive oil has been a hot topic in the past and present, and many studies continue to examine the contents inside a bottle of olive oil. This problem still persists in the industry, especially at the supermarket level.

That's why we created Olive Oil Lovers: to bring some of the world's best olive oils from the most trusted producers to the U.S. market. All of our producers are quality-driven in their manufacturing practices.

We also conduct intensive screening of every producer and product on our site—often visiting their estates and seeing their practices firsthand—and accept only producers who meet our high standards.

To go the extra mile, all of our imported oils are proven extra virgin through chemical analysis in accordance with strict European Union regulations. Therefore, you can trust that any oil you purchase from us at Olive Oil Lovers will be genuine, 100% extra virgin olive oil.

There are two dates that producers may choose to print on a bottle, using either one or both. The "Use By" date is what our producers put on their products to say, "use when at its freshest quality." The taste and quality of the oil don't typically diminish over time, though, unless it is open and exposed to oxygen.

The "Harvest Date" is when the olives for the oil were actually picked and crushed. This date can be any time between late October and mid-December for the Northern Hemisphere, and these new harvest olive oils begin to arrive in the United States in February and March of the following year.

For oils from the Southern Hemisphere, from countries such as Chile or South Africa, harvest occurs any time between late April and mid-June.

While this answer can vary depending on the olive variety, time of harvest, and how the product is stored, in general, an extra virgin olive oil will retain much of its flavor and aromas for 18–30 months in an unopened container.

However, any exposure to light and/or oxygen will begin to degrade the oil. Once opened, olive oil should ideally be consumed within 1–2 months, with a maximum of perhaps 4–6 months. When purchasing a 3L or 5L tin, if the oil is typically not consumed within this timeframe, we recommend decanting the oil into smaller, sealed containers and storing it in a cool, dark place.

Olive oils with higher polyphenol counts will have a longer shelf life. Higher polyphenol numbers are the result of both the olive variety and when the olive was harvested. Green olives harvested early in the season produce less oil but have higher polyphenol counts than oils from ripe olives. You can find the polyphenol counts for many of our extra virgin olive oils listed on their product pages.
